... we still soaked in hanging glaciers, rugged lower peaks, a couple of marmots, some lingering snowfields and lots emerging wildflowers. Both boys were truly elated the entire hike, confirming that the timing of our trip in their lives is at least OK! It was a magical day. We are off to Canada tomorrow- yea! ... also like to take this opportunity to thanks those who've contributed to making this trip possible: Cookie and Pete for the advise, truck and oodles of gear, Mel for hooking me up with so much high end gear (and letting me take off 5 weeks before her), and for the team at Cascade Designs in Seattle for donating the brilliant tent we've got. ... We got to see a beautiful and amazing waterfall, hike through the snow, and have lunch by the river. There was even a snowball fight and some attempts at sledding (with a plastic bag)! We finished off the trip with a stop at a roadside stand for some local ...

We arrived at the Bellingham ferry terminal at 12 midday with a scheduled loading of motor cycles at 1500 and setting sail at 1800. We were in the terminal and drinking tea when they called for motorcycles to board at 1400. It was a miserable wet day and we needed to board via a metal ramp onto the wet deck of the car deck.
