... br> Drove though a little village called Fauske located on a fiord, surrounded by mountains. Mountains contain rocks and the rock they have is marble. It is the town that supplied the marble for Congress thingie in New York. It is a pink marble with a tinge of green. Slightly 70's colour and somewhat out of date.

Pulled into the arctic circle line at 66 degrees. We saw the memorials to the Russian and Yugoslavs prisoners who were used by the Germans to build the Blood ...

... they get very little sunlight and eat lots of salmon.

Back into the town and we have an arvo of leisure. There are a couple of shopping centres nearby so we wandered. Wayne got himself a wallet. A skinny wallet that has a metal centre to store credit cards so they can't be scammed. Our tour director told us about them, great idea. Never seen one like it in Australia. And just for the record..... Wayne is the spender!

... decided to visit some limestone caves nearby which turned out to be up a one in two wet mud road which the bike could not navigate so we headed for the town of moi I rana to look at the Antony gormley statue looking across the fjord and to visit the museum. ... boats they all tend to follow us and try to follow in the waves that our big boat makes, even on some bridges we are greeted by people looking at the boats of Hurtigruten.

Our first stop was Rorvik around 20.45 where another Hurtigruten ship was anchored as well. We went for a short walk outside the ship and within half an hour were gone again, next stop will be 00.45 this night and tomorrow morning between 7 and 8 we will cross the polar ...
