Had two Astronomy talks today first on on Sir Patrick Moore, very interesting and the second one was a round up of the weeks aurora photos. This included was what John Mason (our astronomer) thought to be the first aurora photos shot from the top deck of a ship in a force 8 gale. The stars were needless to say not points!

... so harsh. Well, it is just not true. When we drive the speed limit we are always passed by drivers going way over the limits. We have yet to see any police presence at all on the roads, not even at the scene of an accident that we saw today. There was a tow truck and two ambulance but no police. Curious. Needless to say, we are not quite as conscientious with speed as when we started driving here. ...

We had lunch at the border to northern Norway during which I was intruded on by a Norwegian guy whilst on the toilet (I don't know how he got through the lock). In the arvo we had another pit stop at a salmon farm, which unfortunately meant that those re-entering the bus smelled like fish.
