We’ve been hanging out with Sylwia and Luke a fair bit. They came and met us in Brooklyn for brunch and then we headed to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. It was so hot that of course we had to swing past Ample Hills for an ice cream. We also checked out the Brooklyn Night Bazaar where we played a few games of ping pong, had a few drinks, snacks, checked out some market stalls and tried our ...

The Guggenheim is opposite Central Park, so we crossed over to that side, beautifully tree-lined, which was all the better for viewing the ditinguished houses on the other side of the avenue. I really enjoyed seeing the homes of the well-to-do, and took a few snaps. When it began to rain, we caught a bus to the Rockefeller Centre, and lunch at the French Bakery we visited on Thursday.

Venturing off trail if you dare because you can easily get lost if you're not on the main loop trail. But we risked it anyway and found ourselves faced with huge trees- one that vera claimed to look like a scene from Twilight and another which reminded her of Lord of the Rings... Haha.
