... Maine toll booth another $10.50 charge. Arrived in Kennebunk, Maine at 3:30 this afternoon. What a beautiful park it is. Alot of bikers come here! Alot of space and nice trees. We are not close to the water but there are beaches close by. A little too chilly for the beach anyway. ... lilacs, wisteria, dogwoods, forsythia - huge bright bright yellow forsythia, and a bunch of other blooming things I can't identify. I was told that one was supposed to go to New England in the fall, not the spring.....well, it's true you have the beautiful colors in the fall but you also have the crowds of tourists. No crowds here and it sure is beautiful.

... was a white lab still sitting in the police car. We will always believe that it was Ms. Gypsy's warm, friendly greeting that resulted only in a warning instead of a real ticket. That was Gypsy's first meeting with a "Smokey" in her life but it would not be her last of the day.
As we continued driving east through Connecticut we rehashed over and over "where was that stop sign" and "did you see the police car as we left the Visitors Center?" ...
