... how long we had been at this table that they could be using for someone else, so I asked for him to bring the check as he was setting down the limoncello and espresso (served with chocolate, of course). I think someone said, maybe Christian, even, that Americans eat to fuel themselves. Italians eat for pleasure. I'd like to think there's a balance there, of good fuel (fresh vegetables, lean meats) and great pleasure (decadent olive oil, dessert every once in a while, enjoying the company ...
We've never taken such a complex trip but I think we have everything ready: luggage, tickets, just the right amount of planning, and of course flat Nicole and flat Ceanna.
The poor kitties know something is up but they will have wonderful company while we are away.

... was being dredged, so we passed very slowly. It was getting dark and we just barely had time to find a spot to tie up for the evening before we lost sunlight.
We had a terrific day on the water today. We traveled 80 miles and ended up in Rochester, NY.
We are tired, but enjoying every minute of this trip. So far so good and we are ready for day three!!
