... We also met another girl, Claire, staying at our hotel. We had dinner and drinks, and then they were up for a game of Citadels, which I borrowed from a co-worker. ... to wait for us. I stopped to take a photo and was quickly told to hurry up! They then got bored with the stop-start so just went and waited at the ferry - thankfully we had no need for their protection :-) On the ferry, the hand cranking man greeted us with "you are lucky!", even though we still had to wait for the arrival of some workers. ... that we crave and take for granted. One young guy that we made friends with in San Ignacio had not even heard of London and was telling us about the difficulties people have in finding jobs and earning the most basic salaries. It certainly puts our lives in London into perspective.

There is definitely a lot to do in San Ignacio, unfortunately for us, the rain dampened some of our plans, and so San Ignacio gets a rain soaked ...

So after a grueling six days of hard graft trying to come to terms with not having a care in the world (besides of course my self preservation) I have moved on from San Pedro, inland to San Ignacio.

Now, being decidedly new to this backpacking lark, I think it would be true to say that I have not yet fully grasped the need for spending restraint and that at present, my backpacking would certainly constitute "backpacking light". ...
