... we can find inside our heads to remember, order, prioritise and be thankful. Immense satisfaction is achieved as every kilometre is counted down and personal achievement is sweet. So back to the 'rat race' and our speeding cars, but I pray I wont forget to walk so that I will be forever intimately connected to this beautiful planet, its grandeur and the intricacy of the creation and consequently experience the satisfaction of being apart of it. ...

... brick station buildings, 2 steam engines preparing to depart, railway staff in period uniforms strolling the platform and people waiting excitedly for the first engine to head off. Beautiful! From Grosmont we had a 1 mile climb up a 33% gradient onto Sleights Moor so we didn't hang about. As we laboured up the hill however we could hear the toot toot and chuff chuff of locomotives echoing below us. Once at the top and in the open the rain came down on us. We ...

With rain forecast for tomorrow it looks like we will be finishing as we started with a cliff top walk in the ...

We had a leisurely 15 km walk today. Conditions were cloudy to begin with but brightened over the morning as the cloud broke up into beautiful balls of cotton. We started with a climb up Round Hill, the penultimate C2C climb. Once we reached the summit we again had beautiful views across to the east and back at yesterday's path over the 3 hills. The rest of the walk was along an easy plateau. Since entering the North Yorkshire Moors the the quality of the paths ...

... impressive cluster of boulders on the side of Hasty Bank. We paused here momentarily for a drink and a photo then pressed on to White Hill. This was the hill from which we needed to call our B&B to arrange pick up at Clay Bank Top. There is no accommodation there necessitating a short car ride to Chop Gate for our overnight stay. We had a very pleasant walk indeed. One of the highlights since leaving the ...
