    From Springfield Missouri to Oklahoma City, with a small Excursion into Kansas. Thank you again Mr Ron Smith, A great breakfast and wonderful company. It was a good idea to not push on to Joplin. My first stop Planned for the day is Galena, Just inside Kansas and on the original alignment, A must and some nice roads. Only 13 mile long but I believe a must,
    Onto Oklahoma State, My Goal is Oklahoma ...

    ... the Sandia Peak which we missed last time due to bad weather. At 10,000 ft the temp was in the high 60's compared to low 90's in town. Stunning views from the top.

    From ABQ we crossed the Texas Panhandle into Oklahoma where we have stopped in Oklahoma City for three nights. It is very hot and humid here but we were lucky to find a shaded site for our RV at a lovely KOA ...

    ... is a simple reflecting pool surrounded by 168 chairs, one for each of the victims. Of these, smaller chairs represented the 21 children who died that day.

    To cap off our stay, we witnessed an intense mid-western thunderstorm on our last night. We watched the action from the safety of our hotel room, thankfully, but this gave us a glimpse into the kind of violent weather patterns that seem to be common here in the midwest.

    Got to Wichita Mountain Wild Life Refuge where we saw a bunch of Bison, big-horn steers and prairie dogs, pictures here. So now we're in Norman at the Riverwind Resort and Casino, where, you guessed it, the Tufie is working the machines.

    Oh, and I forgot to mention that we went to the Holy City, where apparently some pastor held an Easter morning service in 1929, and it grew from there with ...
