As amazing as Angkor Wat is, the ride home was surely the most thrilling part of the day. We left Angkor Wat at 5pm on a Friday and it was rush hour! In Cambodia there is one rule to driving on the roads, and that is there are no rules! At cross-roads no one has the right of way. It’s everyman for themself. The tree-lined streets are bordered with restored colonial buildings housing cafes, pubs and bars where people gather to relax after a hard day of trudging around the temples which no doubt we will need over the next few days! A walk around the town with our guide was a good introduction to the laid back lifestyle of the Cambodian people.
