Grandma also has a Piano, which I took great pleasure in playing for hours, all the music I could lay my hands on. Was lots of fun, I’ve been missing my piano at home.

Headed back to Scott’s place for the evening and spent the night playing music at each other and finding out we shared a lot of musical tastes. Good fun day all round!

We had a nice, quiet, chilled out day. So relaxed, in fact, that I completely forgot that we had any plans, but finally realised we were going to Scott's parents (pre-Thanksgiving) when he had his coat and shoes on and I was still in my PJ’s.

Had my first taste of pumpkin pie and spent the evening chatting about all the Thanksgiving food preparations and what to expect tomorrow.

Spa ghetti and apple crumble for dinner, mmmm. I was going to make shortbread biscuits but had to improvise when there wasn't a rolling-pin. It all turned out fine in the end, and quite delicious.

Wine tasting and ice cream today, doesn't get much better! Made some sandwiches and headed out for a drive up to a couple of places on Cayuga Lake, one of the Finger Lakes, where we were sure to find wine (the guys at work will be pleased to note that we went to the places recommended by my lonely planet guide).

So the reason we'd gone up to the parents place was because deer hunting season starts today. It turns out that I’ve been sharing a bedroom with 2 hunting rifles all week which is slightly strange (don’t worry, they’re safely locked away). So Scott and his father went out at 5am after some deer. No luck ...

Waffles for breakfast again! Today we went for a walk up to a really pretty waterfall and had lunch by the lake in Ithaca, sandwiches with ham, cheese, pickles, salami and mustard (which I made btw). Then a little drive up to Scott's parents place with a detour around his home town, was cool to see the farm where he grew up.

Met Scott’s family and had fish and chips for dinner, just like home! Quiet evening in front of Fox News and making plans for the next week.

Cable guy due between 1 and 3 today so not made too many plans, naturally he turned up at 11am while I was in the shower. Happily he had stuff to do that didn't involve access to the bathroom until after I’d finished. Then we celebrated the return of the internet all afternoon, I managed to start this blog (hopefully I’ll keep it up for a while at least) and played some ...

Waffles for breakfast with maple syrup, I approve of breakfast foods in the USA. Went out to Ithaca for the day, the town where Scott has just moved from to have a look round, see where he works and to get my hair colour sorted out. Really pretty town, there are a couple of colleges and we drove up to the campus to get a good view down the hill out over the lake. Was a clear day and the water was really blue ...

... section, complete with marmite, Heinz, Cadbury and Birds custard! Couldn’t resist a couple of pictures, it was so funny. Came back and made a proper American sandwich with 3 layers of meat and 4 layers of cheese. All this took most of the day so we spent the evening watching DVD’s (Battlestar Galactica) and chilling out.

We set off for a couple of hours drive back to Scott’s new place in Elmira, missed the turn-off because we were so busy chattering but made it there eventually. Stopped off to pick up some real loose-left tea on the way, good plan. Had pizza, shower then a big sleep.
