... is 1,600 ft. Water temp is a consistent 39 deg F (about 13 deg C.) year round. In Quincy for the night. Firerfighters everywhere... Lots of bushfires from lightning strikes. Big day tomorrow - all the way to Canyonville for the IUWG reunion.....

It's amazing what can be accomplished when the temperature is only in the mid 90's! I finally had a day that was as long as I had planned back ages ago before I had begun my tour. It was still hot but not unbearably so. It helped that my 3400 ft. of climbing began at 3000 ft. and only got as high as 5000 ft. where I crossed the PCT about 8 mile east of my present camping site.
