When we walked into the market square, I was confused when I saw a few young children running around with bandages wrapped around their heads and what appeared to be huge bloody gashes dripping from their faces. It became clear to me when I noticed that instead of painting butterflies, flowers and tiger whiskers on children's faces, they had a hospital face painting station set up. Belgium
... so one alarm would go off a couple seconds before the other.
It's a 7 hour difference between North Dakota (Central Time) and Antwerp. So we were ahead 7 hours.
They are big into bread, mayo, cheese, etc. here. Beef really isn't as big here as it is back home (which is something I wasn't completely able to adjust to). That's what happens when you're raised on good, homegrown ND beef.

I woke up at 9.45am and felt pretty good. I had slept well, as it was a quiet and dark room, with no disturbances. I'd already squashed the mosquitoe that had been in the room the day before, so I didn't have to worry about it biting me and waking me up in the middle of the night, as they normally do! I went down to breakfast which was pretty good. There was a choice of cereals, juices, bread rolls, cheese, meat slices, yoghurts and tea and coffee ...

... alas, we made it to our hotel in Brussels. And no one fell under the train (a publicly (and daily) announced fear of our professor).
After our arrival, most students went off to find beer, but two of my friends and I went out to explore the city. (Side note: When I was looking online to see what to do in Brussels. Juste quand je pensais être en sécurité...
... 2h30 au lieu de 2h et il faudra que je change de train puisqu'il y a de la construction, (enfin, c'est ce que j'ai cru comprendre. C'est pas toujours clair clair. Le monsieur à la gare essayait de me convaincre de voyager demain à la place, alors peut-être que c'est plus qu'une demi-heure de différence....?)
