Took a family vacation to Gatlinburg, TN!! Don't have many pics on this computer but it's wonderful there. We stayed in a huge cabin. The scenery is out of this world. Pigeon Forge is great! We went to a local steakhouse, The Peddler, and it was awesome! They have great wine to choose from as well. We went for the 4th of July. It was beyond crowded but everyone had a blast, and we would go back in a heartbeat. ...
... so we drove down to Dollywood and Pigeon Forge. We came back the tourist road to see all the motels, restaurants, rides with the most prevalent one being the go cart tracks.

... to do in Pigeon Forge, we should have pancakes for dinner! Unfortunately, we found out that pancake places all closed at 2-3pm. (You would think tourists would want pancakes at 1am after riding on crazy go karts?! Maybe its time for me to go into business...). ... that Alabama, more than the other states we drove through, is a poor state were people drive cars longer and with less maintenance, to the point they simply leave them as a total loss. In any event, the State of Alabama has recognized this phenomenon too, because they put up special road signs requiring you to move over a lane when you see a vehicle parked by the side of the road.
After a four hour drive we arrived in Gatlingburg in the Smokey Mountains, the home of Dolly Parton. We headed straight for the theme park - Dollyworld!! It was fantastic! Excellent rides, great price and not only that but the park showcased many of the traditional local trades like wagon making, leather crafts, iron plaques etc. It even has its own leading Bird Rehab centre.
