We ended our day at the chateau with dinner in Fontainebleau, a pleasant village that is easily walkable. We met a nice man and his son while watching the soccer game in a local bistro. He taught accounting for the last 6 years at the U of A in Tucson and now teaches international business in a school in Fontainebleau. It really is a small world! ...

After spending almost 2 hours in the house there was only time for a quick look at the gardens. Then we set off for Vaux le Vicomte via the village of Barbizon. This village was the place where painters came to paint the landscapes and the forest. The most famous of these painters were Millet and Rousseau and the houses they lived in are now museums.
