Good night in the old motel. Many other travellers (workers) left early but quietly. Breakfast was what we expected - danish pastries, little muffins, bagels and cream cheese. No bread for toasting, no spreads. Collected some apples and walked to Omelete Shoppe next door for fresh eggs and bacon for Wes and eggs and tomato slices for me. Waitress put into computer 4 eggs for me. I had asked for 2 and that is what she thought she had punched in. Cook refused to remove any eggs so I got 4 ...

... s sleep and headed out in the rain, one of the few times we have encountered it. Strange because it rained while we were in St. Louis and the short remaining portions of Missouri.
