What a lovely relaxing day of touring the local area and organising for the leg of the journey. We visited Merrickville, about 30 minutes away for lunch, a stroll to the shops and the locks, and then arvo tea to finish it off. Have to get used to everything being written in English and ...

... USA and into Canada. The bridge is very high and long, with concrete supported approaches and a suspended metal section in the middle. The road deck is made of meshed steel (presumably to let the snow fall through) and on the suspended section makes the road noise really loud and produces serious tyre vibration at the 25mph speed limit. Combine this with the wind buffeting and the bridge swaying and it was the most terrifying bridge I have ever been ...

tub (after the kids were in bed) and they had a large vege garden
that we were allowed to raid. So generous! hey also had a great park space across the road so we spent part of the afternoon kicking the ball and reading in the fresh air. Can get a little stuffy and cramped in the RV so it was nice to find a free and clean place to rest.

... big and not too small.

The next day there were hydroplane races taking place downtown on the waterfront. Lucky us, we were able to watch from Scott's boat on the water. As well, he gave us a tour in the boat. Brockville has 18 smaller islands that form part of the city and his force is responsible for law enforcement on all othem as well. Some big enough for a home or two, and ...

... have been a couple of 50 pounders caught, quite a few over 40lbs and lots of thirties.
My smallest fish was just 6lbs, but out of the 21 I caught 17 were doubles!

Paul and Lisa put a lot of effort into making your stay enjoyable and I highly recommend that if you want to sample Canadian Carp fishing this is the place to do it.
