We drove to the ski town of Stowe and spent a sunny afternoon biking along the river, the path criss-crossing the river by way of ten bridges, bordering pastures and farms. The leaves are falling and the colors fading but it was still a pleasant ride ending at the Brookdale covered bridge.
... I'll put a couple photos of the room.
On day 2, we decided to head north, away from the crowds, and find the ever shy Moose. Eight miles from our place is the ski resort which has a road to the top of the mountain, or you can ride the gondola (we were going to do the road since it was 36 degrees this morning). Well, when we started up the mountain we encountered a wee bit of wet snow, which basically freaked out all the ...
I graduated with a batchelor of arts degree in Anthropology and Music in May from Franklin Pierce University. All I've ever wanted to do is be an archaeologist. Last summer I was able to get a job doing archaeology CRM (Cultural Resource Management) for a company even before I had a degree. I wasn't worried about finding work this summer, because I figured that if I could get work without a BA I could definitely get one with a BA.
Unfortunately the economy crumbled and ...
... to spend time in a state that still has its feet firmly planted deep in the ground and maintains such a fierce and unevangelistic individuality.
The Egg Farm itself was a tiny ramshackle place up near Island Pond, VT. It used to actually be an Egg Farm and since reputations die hard in small-town Vermont it is still known as such even though its current egg production is under a dozen a day (one of Penelope's stated goals is to make sure that her farmstead ...
... assists with the daily milking of her cows. The really interesting part of the dinner occurred over a discussion regarding Captain Cook and it would appear that these two Vermonters new more about him than we did, especially pertaining to Cooks demise, it appears that they had recently read a book about him!!!! Jo and I were humbled by their generosity and knowledge of New Zealand's history.
Cabot, Vermont, United States brentandjo... moved to the "Front Four" (Goat, Lift Line, National & Star) Sorry to say only Lift Line and National were open, but because it was so icey that was probably good. We spent most of the day working off the quad and repeating Lift Line (off Havchute) until later on in the day when it was so icey that I slid down the entire upper part of the run. We went to the medium terrain park where we took a few jumps, then we ...

Owl's Head, Canada frankyou... me out, I dislike the drive and give control to Fabio. I let the Brazilian who's new at driving in snow have control and I become the submissive yet typical "back-seat driver." Not knowing US road laws he just tells me, "Just tell me when to stop and when I can go" which I easily agree to. 10 minutes and a short struggle later we make it there, happily. It had been a long day both for me and for Fabio who flew in from Arizona. We're happy to see the girls and get some sleep.
Stowe, Vermont, United States ktowers86Woke up at a reasonable hour for a Brit (ie middle of the night), accidently woke Mrs M up, despite my spectre like movements around the bedroom. Went and read in the lounge. When I got back Mrs M was up and ready for breakfast; a carbohydrate crammed buffet again with great coffee. A lovely sunny start and on the road to Woodstock (don't think it was the famous one) while cursing technology in general and the stupid, stupid ...
Jeffersonville, Vermont, United States robinmichel... not the outside. It began sprinkling a little as we were leaving the gardens and the Shonbrun. Once we left the main gate and were walking back towards the Ubahn we sang some songs. Then we officially took our last Ubahn ride. It was quite sad. When we got back, I finished packing up the stuff that I could. At like midnight Craig and Caro knocked on my door and asked if I wanted to go down to Stephansplatz one last time to get a kasekraner. I was a little ...
