Today was supposed to be a rain day so we planned things that didn't require good weather. As it turned out it was a beautiful day - probably over 19 degrees!! We started out at the Folk Center - many great pieces from local artisans including quilting, pottery, paintings, woodworking, jewellery no more. Then we drove to the Builtmore Estate - home of the Vanderbuilts. We didn't actually see it ... A very ...

We left this morning around 8:50 - travelling to Ashville today. It was a lovely drive through the mountains. More colour in the trees than what we saw in the park. 15 degrees today!! ... who live here are kind enough to allow public access. Along their driveway, they have signs directing to waterfall parking and warning of a very friendly dog. As soon as we got out of the cars, we were greeted by this adorable dog. Very friendly, indeed, though he didn’t have a name tag so we didn’t find out his name. We could see the waterfall from the parking area, but we let the dog lead us to the waterfall. ...

... that It was OK this morning when I checked it, so I blame the Dragon for the final straw! I limp back to our overnight stop - the longest 60 miles ever - but trusty Bob was up my rear (not a pleasant experience!) to keep an eye on me in case the tyre caused me problems. Looks like I will be searching our new tyres in the morning.

Our overnight stop is something different - little wooden cabins on ...
