Millbrae House Dumfries and Galloway

Well I was all set to leave, my brother arrived to pick me up and told me that my father had passed away that morning. Devastating news. Rang Real Gap straight away and they were really good about everything. Have postponed trip until after the funeral which is this Friday.

This evening marked precisely 2 weeks to departure - awesome! XD

Think I've packed up everything in the house now, feels weird without the cats being here. I think that's one of the toughest things I've ever had to do. I hope they go to a good home....

Sold the car and rented out the flat and packed my life into a box. Strange feeling.

It took ages to get through immigration, pick up luggage and get onto the waiting buses and then another 2 hours to get offloaded at the hotel. Not because it was so far away but because it just took forever. We weren't allowed to take our bags up - they had to go through security and it was another hour till it turned up. By this time I had decided I couldn't face exploring so I ordered room service ...

we arrived at Heathrow at about 5am which was bloody early even for us plus it was cold. It was pretty uneventful and delivered us safely to Doha.

As usual, up at 5am, this time packing up camp and going elsewhere. We left the Lake District, stopping off at Long Meg and Her Daughters, a massive Stone Circle. Then drove on to Glasgow, but didn’t stay. Got stuck in some crazy traffic (worse than London I recon!!!) and got a bit lost on the motorways! Super spaghetti!

So headed south, and drove through some beautiful green rolling hills in the Dumfries. Beautiful part of the country here! So lush, and who knows how the sheep stand on those almost cliff like sides of these hills!
