... to look at the map of the world when the sea was that much lower. The UK was just a large bulge on Western Europe and was at least twice as big. Japan was connected to mainland Asia, Newfoundland was connected to Canada and had an extension as large as Newfoundland is today.

After the museum, we drove briefly through the city of Whitehorse, which is situated on the banks of the Yukon river. After stopping for some shopping, we were on the road again.

... lake is not at all fitting for the ‘interesting’ poem. It was much too pretty a lake for a poem about someone freezing to death. The lake had a perfect reflection of the small mountains and sunset. We got there a little after 11:00pm so we got to see a sunset! The sun sets around 11:00 to 11:30 and it rises again at about 4:30ish. It feels perfectly normal to be driving or eating dinner up here at 10:30 ...
