... but he was actually really interesting to talk to and he loved the fact we were British. He said it will be a day he will always remember. I guess I do have that affect on people. Wow! We slept so well, but we really have to get up and get going!

On our way to SC yesterday I had called my very favorite female cousin, Pam, to ask her to tell her mom that I would be in Simpsonville today but only for 30 minutes or so. I wouldn't have time to swing by, but wanted her to know I was thinking about her.
Sam, Linda, Lawson, Charlie and now Pam and aunt Patsy were all sworn to secrecy as we are going to just pop in to see my mom. ...

We stopped by the Allman Brothers museum at Macon (rhymes with bacon) yesterday, which is 'the big house' where the band all lived at the height of their creative period. Definitely one for the obsessive fan, but still ok just to wander around aimlessly, despite a lack of any meaningful labelling. Hey, that's rock and roll, dude.

... National Historic Site, Atlanta, Georgia. This historic site is centered around Martin Luther King, Jr's boyhood home near downtown Atlanta and also includes Ebenezer Baptist Church, which is where his father, and later Martin Luther King Jr, himself preached. We were able to take a tour of his home, but no photos were allowed inside. We also took a self guided tour of the church. One could almost hear his sermons that came from the pulpit. ...
