... hadden. In de zoo verblijven onder andere de enige reuzen panda’s uit het zuidelijke halfrond. Het was de eerste keer dat we deze grote ‘knuffel’ beren in het echt konden bewonderen. Na de zoo bezochten we nog de binnenstad van ‘Adelaide’ en keerden we langs de rivier terug naar onze camping. Adelaide - part 1

lions, giraffes, meer cats and mini penguins. We then went shopping at Rundle street malls which was very nice – until after we bought loads of stuff and had to lug it back – now my back's quite sore – lol- and Debs is hobbling round the room going 'ooh ooh ooh' lol

After a latte (the Australians really know how to make this coffee), we motored on down to Goolwa where we walked across the Goolwa Barrage which keeps the fresh water of the River Murray apart from the Southern Ocean. The pelicans, black swans and numerous birds hang about here, catching the fish as it comes through the the barrage - as do the numerous fur seals who bask in the warm waters and sunshine, giving the local fishermen a run for their money!

That night our friends upgraded us to a deluxe double room, actually Charlottes own, at her place, and we had her amazing curry, altogether with Charlotte & Reimer (Michael), Charls cousin Rachel, sis Anna and her Mum and some billiard games at the pub round the corner... where we girls lost, like Ana with her basketball team ;) Next day was blog day and we were proud ...
Odds 'n' ends, bits 'n'bites... Junk drawer!
... throughout the country), the lights for pedestrians don't change when the green lights for cars appear. Only when both streets of traffic are completely stopped do all of the pedestrian lights change to 'walk', and then one can not only walk both north/south and east/west across the street, but through the intersection. We are so tickled by this we find ourselves taking the diagonal crosswalk even when it's unnecessary. And so would you.
