... we finally departed at 9:45 pm, 6 1/2 hrs. behind schedule. I felt bad for Paul and Karen who had no way of knowing until they got the bad news at the airport. We didn't arrive in Detroit until 12:30 am. Many thanks to our dear friends who decided to tough it out and wait for us at the airport instead of getting a hotel room. ... problem child. Everything was fine until one day after we got home. Then, the freezer stopped working. End result was a new refrigerator. Luckily, we could keep food cool in the refrigerator until the new one arrived. Coincidence or three weeks of no contact caused a breakdown? We'll never know. Not sure if I mentioned it in an earlier blog, but as we rode the train to Birmingham from Stratford, we discouraged at least four young women ...
