The Streets of Philadelphia

A travel blog entry by gavin_davies on Sep 02, 2013

... for the steps Rocky runs up. I was all set to reenact it and had 'Gonna Fly Now' ready to go on my MP3 Player and everything. Unfortunately it was not meant to be. Over the weekend there had been some sort of huge gig/festival thing in front of it, and it is all closed off as they take everyting down. Leaving New York for the Streets of Philadelphia

The outdoor gardens were beautiful, but I think we were both most impressed with the flora in the Conservatory and the adjoining rooms and greenhouses. So many different greens, flowers, and landscaping packed in to a huge pavilion. We spent about three hours total there, but easily could have spent several hours ...

Philadelphia

... It was a very hot day, and so it was rather lovely to be outside swinging some balls around - thankfully I wasn't too rusty after a summer absent from the sport, and I managed not to disgrace myself infront of two rather good players! That evening, Mia's parents took me again, this time for a quick drive into Philadelphia to see the city lit up. We drove by the infamous boat houses on the river, and through the museum district which ...
