    Arrived in this historic home built in 1904 on June 19th. It is an amazing home. They have tried to keep it true to the era in which it was built.

    ... also Illinois). This Springfield is smaller than the one in Missouri but according to the guide it might be a place to stop. We got there and even though we drove around and liked the look of the place, there was actually no motels or hotels which was odd. So we decided to press on to see if we would have any more luck in Carthage.

    We were given a $20 voucher for a local restaurant and drinks vouchers for the (posher) Hilton next door. We had a really blast checking in.
