AJ and Allison will so 2100 miles- we did 2- well, 4 round trip! We drove from Mt. Rogers National Recreation area to Grayson Highlands State Park. We stopped at the visitors centers at both areas. At Grayson Highlands we parked at Massey Gap and walked a couple of miles in on the trail. Despite being called Rhododendren Trail, the trail was covered with lovely pink mountain laurel and bright orange honeysuckle bushes. We walked in to see the wild ...

Footgear becomes very important and they have issues with drying as rain has been abundant this summer. After breakfast we gave them a ride back to the AT.

Also while at the vendor area, I signed up for the things that would occupy a large portion of my time at Trail ...

I was regretting not hanging my hammock, but then I later talked to a guy who had tented at that shelter who said people talked until late, shined lights around all night and shook his tent with ...

... more miles than I had ever hiked before (I finally beat out the 23 miles I hiked during my rim to rim hike of the Grand Canyon), I was feeling pretty good when I got up. I had popped a preventative Ibuprofen the night before in case my legs were sore, and it seemed like it worked, as I slept fairly well. Some people eat Ibuprofen like candy on the trail, but I've been letting whatever soreness take care of itself. That was only my second Ibuprofen of the trail, and the first was ...
