... able to read a book.  There were two little kids playing in the pool that reminded me of Mike and I when we were kids.  The older sister kept bossing around her little brother named, "Michael." She kept saying "Michael" for about an hour as she was grabbing his feet, tossing balls, and generally having a great time.  My bro and I kept looking at each other and I could tell we were thinking the same thing...cute ...

... and Paia. Makawao is a small place with quirky shops and has a well known bakery which Stephanie told us about which sells cream puffs. Well, we couldn't leave the town without sampling them so we bought enough for Peter & Stephanie too.

... first few times I screamed, but them held it together after that, not wanting to disrupt the beautiful calm of the day with the blood curdling scream of terror that was in my chest. I know it's irrational, but all good, funny, embarrassing fears are just that- irrational.

... We poked around there for a bit longer, and finally decided to head back to the condo to chill for awhile and have supper. When cashing in miles to fly six people in the first-class cabin from Newark to Maui, you don't have the option to fly direct. So, we had to drop down in Phoenix to change planes. In total, we spent about 18 hours traveling - a long day for even the most durable traveler. The kids held up well - certainly helped by the fact that we were sitting in first class.
