... neighbors' 40th Anniversary celebration. All the neighbors turned out - some old, some new, some borrowed ... but I digress. A good time was had by all. Jim and Gayle and Mom Nancy put on a great party. Lots of good food. Then, back to Schmidts for a wonderful boat ride. So nice. Up tomorrow for the rest of our journey home
... to eat at Wendy's rather than Taco Bell this go around. We were back home in just over 7 hours, much better than the 9 it took up there! The temperature difference when we got home was definitely a shocker, St. Louis wasn't any warmer than it normally is at the end of June but when you spend a week up north, even upper 80s is a shocker.
Sad to leave vacation behind, but happy to be home sweet home and happy to sleep in my own bed! Til next time Michigan, you've been ...

We started the day out with another yummy free breakfast then headed down the road to Saugatuck for our last beach day of the trip!
We had planned to check out Saugatuck Dunes State Park first, thinking it had nice trails if we wanted to be adventurous and a nice beach if we wanted to just relax. We got there and were disappointed to find out that hiking a 2.5 mile long trail was the ONLY way to get to the beach. Needless to say with ...
... times with friends in the couple weeks before I left. So far in South Haven we have kayaked, walked around downtown, hung out at the beach, eaten good food, shopped, played games, attempted to go bowling and to the movies, watched a sunset, and just talked and goofed around as always. This trip is always a favorite, but I'm super excited to see what other adventures are in store for me in Tanzania.
