Dad decided that a trip to the Field of Dreams should be a late inclusion in to the road trip.

It was a 4 hour drive from Chicago. When we arrived the field (just like in the movie) was there. On the field there were a lot of people playing baseball.

What happened next was awesome. The movie scene where the baseball players came out of the corn field was re-enacted. Some of those involved were in the original movie. ...

... games in the smooth air, none the worse for wear. We climbed to 11,000' to stay in the smooth air above the clouds and chop, but that was fine, as we also picked up a 35-knot quartering tailwind. At one point, I saw a groundspeed of 210 knots.

We dropped down under the clouds and into the turbulence, but Alex was fine with that. The reason we'd come down early was to look for the location where the movie "Field of Dreams" was shot. ...
