As we had to leave our hotel before breakfast was served, the hotel provided us with 2 great picnic breakfasts. Our taxi got us to the Sants train station at 7:30, heaps of time for our 8:30 train. We ate most of one of our picnic breakfasts – ham roll, cheese roll, a roll with meat and tomato paste, a delicious muffin and orange juice. We kept the other picnic plus the water and Kit Kat from the first one.

... amazing food. The diet has blown out quite a lot with all this eating, so I need to either crank up the running some more, or get off the bread and tapas and into some salad at some point - we'll see. Date night tomorrow, well actually date day and night - Kate is giving us the day off, so look out, and then it is off to Ibiza. Mmmm that could be even uglier. If we can get out alive after the next week we'll be doing well.
    Over and out.

Matty did such a great job in his turn of reading the maps and guiding us through the metros and train stations it was Sami's turn today both did a great job. We made it back to the hotel to grab our gear and got a taxi directly to the port. We had to line up for ages to check in to the NCL Norwegian Spirit. ...

... 7 Americans. Our very interesting and knowledgeable guide, Marta showed us the sights of Barcelona and Montserrat (enriched with lots of local history and current affairs). Here's a quick summary of our day.... As we drove through the streets, Marta explained that when the old walls got torn down, the wealthy of the late 1800's and early 1900's wanted apartment buildings with exteriors that had a personal stamp. They would linger on the balconies or promenade in ...

I'm beginning to love my new life as a tourist in my own city! Each weekend is like taking a vacation to a fabulous European city without the hassle and exhaustion of actually going anywhere! Recently I spent a Saturday strolling around Montjuic with friends. In Catalan, Montjuic translates into Mountain of the Jews and gets this name from the Jewish cemetery on the mountain (hill, really). The mountain is rich in history. It has ...
