On my flight to LA so I thought I would start my Spartan Malibu blog. I'll arrive in LA at noon then it's an hour car ride to Malibu. I'll settle in, check into the hotel and get a lay of the land. I still need to buy some stuff for the race but wanted to wait until I got to LA. Anyway, the way the race is designed we have no idea what to expect as far as obstacles or distance. the website says ...
... car & up the road to the Culinary Institute of America (CIA). The most beautiful campus & again on the Hudson River. Plenty of students walking around between classes, all wearing the check pants, white tunic & clogs. It was also super busy because there was a graduation ceremony. ... Carol, Jeannie and Otto but it may have been somewhere else.
We got to our Fishkill hotel just about when it was getting dark. It was also pretty cold as we (or I) had to make multiple trips to the car. We were very pleasantly surprised by the spacious "suite" with kitchenette - where we could nourish ourselves on leftovers from our dinner at Kara and John's. Thank you, John, for all the food!
