... a couple greeting cards, but nothing big. We got a father's day card for Jordan. Then we headed home and stopped at Bakery Nouveau on the way. 5th January - Sunday

A lovely blue sky, quite cool but no rain in Seattle this morning, apparently it rains a lot here so we are very lucky on our only day in town that it is a nice one. First thing today was a walk to the Pike Place Markets, they started as a farmers market and have grown.

Started the day with a great brunch at nearby Glo's cafe... And then we walked along above freeway and cut into downtown, passing the Rem Koolhaas' public library, which from the outside looked just over the top but on visiting inside was great with exceptional space and light - included the blood red hall which resembled the interior of a giant model of the human ...

... stop just outside Downtown. We booked into our rather tatty hotel and headed down to the waterfront for a beer and a burger. We spent our remaining hours in "Going Home" mode but Seattle is a nice city with some nice attractions to visit (did you know the Beatles stayed here?) and some nice bars to drink in. I'm sure we'll spend a couple more days here next year when we return. We even got to have a drive in a lovely, yellow Toyota Prius. ...
