The first room housed a temporary exhibit of the works of Ashley Bryan, a 95-year-young artist living on Cranberry Island on Mount Desert Island, who started winning art awards in grade school. The exhibit displays his works, including children’s books and puppets, along a timeline with short biographies. I loved his work (bright colors and birds, what’s not to love?).

A little southbound today for a change. Very lush and scenic drive to Bangor, Maine. How do you pronounce that you ask? Well.. Funny you should ask. We first thought, and heard, Ban.gor.. Then we heard, bang.or.. And never that far away was Banger.. We never really did find out for sure. Even the local radio station went back and forth with pronunciation. Strange name, great place.
