... which we walk in peace... the silence broken only by the sound of the waves...

Lot of people find it relaxing to do fishing in secluded spots on the coastal areas as well.

The bay is filled with boats owned by those staying in the heights and which act as a luxurious getaway whether anchored or on sail.

Having started the walk well on time, and after a leisurely trek of about 3.5 hours, we finally reached Manly Wharf, hungry enough to crash into ...

... the car that night. There was a line of sweet little bungalows as I walked up. I had a private bed with a shared kitchen and bath. Couple of very stinky boys in the other room but it all felt very beachy and I loved it. It was a short walk to the ocean and the little town. It was warm and beautiful there. A true tropical retreat. I Had loads of beach time, lagoon time, and reading time in the hammock down on the sand. My walking pace slowed to a crawl. There were naps. I pumped things ...

Since it is raining out now Jess and I plan to go see a movie before I get my 7pm bus.

... the next one. To sum up our stay in Sydney, we really liked the city! We feel that it is definitely one of the options to settle down for a longer period, but we still have half of Australia left to explore. Thanks to Christina and Darcy we got some local insights on what to see, and what we can skip. Now, we are heading up the east coast, first stop Seal ...

... 2015….year of the sheep.

Just a note of the expense of living in Sydney. One thing I enjoy doing in parts of the world is going through supermarkets. My discovery: Potato chips $5, a Hass Avocado was $3.50. Cherries, $16.99 a kilo, a small basket of blueberries $5.99 (usually 2 for $5 in the USA). The chickens we buy at Costco, $4.99? $11.99 here. And they say San Diego is expensive. This is also a very young city, I hardly saw anyone over 30 years ...
