      ... quickly checked our baggage. Checked in, and had lunch before looking for and locating our cabin. We are travelling on NCR and our stateroom is excellent - large room with a balcony, which is a surprise, as most cabins I have had in the past have been exceedingly small.
      We quickly stowed our things and found ourselves a spot to watch the launch and our progress out of the LA harbour. Of course many photos were taken to commemorate this ...

      Another eventful day with a bit of a drive in search of a conventional mall that we are used to - the ones we have been to so far are the strip malls that are common here and most of it is outdoors - given the weather is chilly we wanted to be indoors and warm! Must be getting old!
      nice and relaxing with not much to buy but the girls did buy their gifts for friends.

      We then drove into downtown and watched the LA Lakers play Memphis ...

      ... basically three seats to ourselves, with foot rests that come up to form a flat area for lounging / sleeping. This was a good decision as it meant we could spread ourselves out a bit and actually get some sleep.

      Arrive back at Heathrow on time, get through the airport pretty quickly and head home to grey clouds and rain! Kind of nice to be home, we certainly missed our giant shower and I'm sure our own bed will feel like heaven ...

      ... contained the original Friends set (it was never even filmed in NY). We sat 10 yards away from the set of 2.5 men and had to laugh out loud at all the jokes so they could be recorded for the episode. In true American style we were given pizza half way through the filming and at the end as we went to leave we bumped into the leading star Ashton Kutcher, which left Sara completely starstruck - he is a very cool ...

      ... get to see the Hollywood Sign, it was off into the distance and a bit of a funny angle but we at least got to see it, so there’s that box ticked. And then a bit later we were walking out from our hotel, turned left instead of right and there it was, huge and almost within spitting distance, so that tour was totally worth it. We did get to see the crookedy house that’s in a split second scene in Clueless though, so there’s that.
