... set up, selling mostly clothing. We went knto one of the hotels we had the name of, and decided to stay, choosing a 'superior room', which was large, had wifi and a tea/coffee maker, ( not that it really influenced me?!), and for €79 a night was good value.
We had another, unfortunate experience like we had on a previous trip, when we tried to get fuel. Many of the stations now are attached to a supermarket, are available ...

We are staying here for another day. We aren't sure yet where we will go after this. But there are several places that we are considering, including Orleans, Blois and Chinon. It was a watery sun this morning. Lunch with Sue and Tony in Les Rairies. It is so good to catch up with someone who has been a friend for over 40 years. ... happy this morning, i have met a ginger cat. The loss of our sweet little Basalina is still fresh with me and i long to pick him up but he scurries away into the undergrowth.

After lunch we visited Fontevraud Abbey.

The Abbey was originally the site of the tombs of King Henry II, his wife Eleanor of Aquataine, their son Richard I (The Lionheart). However there is no presence of them. Their ...

      Wednesday

As we wind our way down into the valley a heavy fog covers everything. Visibility was down to 50 metres at times.

5 hours later and the fog has not lifted as we speed along driving as safely and as fast as we can. It is still foggy as we approach the deviation past Paris on our way to Saumur. All the way from the French alps to the Loire valley across France.

Lucas is tootling along at 160 klm and we come up behind an ...
