    Today, we explored the western side of the island. We are still investigating snorkeling areas. We traveled through the towns of Hanapepe, Waimea, and Kekaha. Found the Salt Pond beach and the Kekaha beach as a couple of alternatives.

    ... a guy - well that is Hanalei Bay. We also went into the bar where they filmed called Tahiti Nui, and the same musicians were playing. Just as a footnote Kauai Island charms have been known to Hollywood for years with most Elvis films, South Pacific, Raiders of the lost ark, and a few dinosaurs got lose in Jurassic Park.

    Early morning breakfast of Papaya and lime and a bowl of cereal and then off to Tunnels. Parked our chairs from 9am till 2 PM under my favorite tree. Beautiful sunny day to veg at the beach.     ... or not. So there is only one way to see the amazing sights….from the air! Helicopter style. So I think I have started out this vacation with a *bang*. I flew with Blue Hawaiian - and even got a free DVD and t-shirt...and at this point - I really DO need more t-shirts!!!

    My first morning waking up on Kauai was even more amazing then I thought it would be. Ron and Brendan have a large balcony that wraps around half of their house with an amazing view of a large mountain to the left, a lush green pasture to the center, and a small river emptying out into the ocean to the right.
