Long day of driving - 442 miles, about 7.5 hours.

We stay at this park usually on our way back home. It's comfortable, easy access, and good hookups. It is connected with a company that brings in live country entertainers throughout the year. We keep hoping we will be there when something is scheduled but have missed it so far.

... we managed to watch it through the trees. They're not kidding when the post signs saying 'rock slide area, do not stop'. We didn't see any bears or mountain lions, which was a bit sad but probably quite positive. There were meadows and forests and creeks....honestly, so breathtaking. The park is so big that it encompasses four different geographical areas and between the two days we managed to see a little bit of everything, which was amazing. There are only ...

... character. The house is actually composed of nine levels and was impressive for its time. The "new" 1860 sections had central heating, indoor plumbing, huge closets. Two of us had a wonderful tour throughout the entire house, complete with stories of Cassius and life during his time. No photos allowed, sorry. Just 10 miles north of Lexington, the Kentucky Horse Park is dedicated to showcasing the region's long equine history and highlighting the multiple horse breeds within the state. The complex is huge and really well done. I started with a horse-drawn (black Clydesdales) trolley ride around the grounds.
