There is so much to see in all these old communities. We arrived about 30 minutes before the band returned from their trip to St Louis for a band competition. Long day of driving - 442 miles, about 7.5 hours.

We stay at this park usually on our way back home. It's comfortable, easy access, and good hookups. It is connected with a company that brings in live country entertainers throughout the year. We keep hoping we will be there when something is scheduled but have missed it so far.

... we managed to watch it through the trees. They're not kidding when the post signs saying 'rock slide area, do not stop'. We didn't see any bears or mountain lions, which was a bit sad but probably quite positive. There were meadows and forests and creeks....honestly, so breathtaking.
