... 4.11-22. It was nice to have some discussion amongst the group with many people contributing. The exhort was on the daily reading of Luke 15, the parable of the prodigal son. One thing that struck a chord with me was that when the father divided up his inheritance and give his youngest son his share, the father would have known the son's intentions (just as our Father knows ours) yet still gave him the inheritance, no strings attached! Now if ...
... so we put the exit for Lafayette in our mirror and drove on to Beaumont, TX as our stagecoach stop on our way to Hill Country.
Gulf Shores RV Resort, just off I-10 was a nice little park with a good rating from all our RV resources. Our plan was to stay one night and depart the next day for the long drive to Kerrville, TX. Good intent but a bothersome noise in the right front wheel sounding like a ...
We came through Fredericksburg on our last trip west in 2006. But we were on our way to Abilene and did not have time for anything but a short walk. So we thought it would be a good place to spend Thanksgiving. It is located in the hill country of Texas. and was settled by Germans. We found a place to have a wonderful traditional Thanksgiving ...
Nov. 15th Drove to Luckenbach, Texas-yea the place Willie Nelson made famous with the lyrics "I'm going to Luckenbach, Texas with Waylon, Willie and the Boys". What an absolutely cool place! We left Fredericksburg and backtracked to the LBJ Ranch near Stonewall for the early morning tour.
Growing up in the 1960s as a high school and college student, many of the items on display brought back a lot of memories of those turbulent times. In LBJ's closet were boxes containing many of his trademark western style hats. Many were Resistol brand made in my hometown of Garland. My mother remembers meeting "Senator" Johnson on ...

Magnolia House, the Perfect Bed and Breakfast
The Magnolia House is a perfect bed and breakfast!! Lisa and Claude are wonderful and work tirelessly to see that each guest feels welcomed. My husband and I truly feel as comfortably there as we do in our own home! If you are looking for a place to stay that serves perfect gourmet breakfasts each day and is spotless clean, you will not be disappointed. We highly recommend the Magnolia House.
This was my first stay at a Bed and Breakfast in the states - previously I've only stayed at them abroad while on vacation. It was fantastic! My mom and I stayed over the Easter weekend when it was freezing - in fact it sleeted all day that Saturday. It was great to be in a B&B because we really felt at home, plus there were drinks, movies, games, etc. to keep us occupied. But I do think that we really felt at home at Magnolia House because of Lisa and Claude. They are fantastic hosts, extremely helpful, cook a phenomenal breakfast, and are overall great people. I highly recommend Magnolia House!
Best B&B we've ever experienced!
Staying at the Magnolia House was a wonderful pleasure. Lisa and Claude, the hosts, create an environment in which their guests are both perfectly at home and beautifully pampered. Lisa was always there when we wanted to speak with her, but she was never obtrusive.
I was with six family members in two suites and one room, and each was furnished with delightful details and complete comfort. Hanging out in the living areas was equally pleasant. The breakfasts were delicious two course affairs at tables set in such a lovely fashion that they could have been in magazines.
We can't wait to visit Fredericksburg again just to stay at the Magnolia House.
Exceeded our expectations
This was our first venture to a B&B and it was fantastic. The owners are very good hosts and the accomodations were very nice. The Breakfast was all home-made and was a real treat. We will definitely go back again.
I've stayed in many B&Bs and this one is the best. I've never seen such pride and high standards before staying with Claud and Lisa at Magnolia House. Every detail of this wonderful home and its beautiful furnishings are perfect, as is the nice garden with fish pond. It is getting difficult to find full breakfasts these days at a B&B, and this one was gourmet all the way. Fantastic wine and baked goods in the evening, chocolates in every room in the house, and I enjoyed the added decorating touches for Easter. Lisa recommend a fabulous restaurant for dinner. I highly recommend Magnolia House.
The best B&B I have ever stayed at!
My husband and I stayed at the Magnolia House last week and had the best time ever. The accommodations were outstanding as well as the host and hostess, Claude and Lisa. The refreshments in the evening were perfect and the breakfasts were as delicious as they were unique. Claude and Lisa helped us find all the best places to visit while we were in Fredericksburg. And I can say positively that they stirred us in the right directions. I would highly recommend this wonderful place!
Don and Jennifer Stanton, Kansas City, Missouri
We visited the hill country for the first time and chose the Magnolia House as our place to stay the night. We were not disappointed. The room was upstairs and very nicely appointed. Extremely clean. There was wine and freshly baked cookies upon our arrival which was very welcomed after all the sightseeing one does while in Fredericksburg.(Very nice town by the way) The living room, dining room, and a small reading room was to be enjoyed by anyone staying there. The backyard was so refreshing with a fish pond, swing, and other lawn chairs nestled on a well manicured lawn. Very nice. Our only disappointments were the lack of nice soaps and toileteries in the bath (two slivers of MOTEL soap should not be placed in a nice home) and the breakfast. The owner tried very hard to please but the food was not very good. I would recommend this place, especially in the Spring. It is not far from Main street and it is extremely clean and quiet. You can always eat somewhere else. Our experience was a good one.
Beautiful old house with lovely furnishings. The place is spotless. Claude and Lisa Saunders are the absolute best hosts, making sure their guests are welcomed with all the comforts of home plus more. Delicious gourmet breakfast each morning, homemade treats in the afternoon, and wine in the evening. There is information about the area and sights to see, including restaurant menus. The Saunders' offered to make dinner reservations for us even before we arrived, and we took them up on it. Their dinner suggestions were excellent.
What a Gem
This is the best B&B in Frederickburg. Attention to detail and care about their guests are the Innkeepers main concerns. Our stay was lovely and we recommend them to all of our friends who are thinking of staying in this quaint town.
Warm and Friendly
The Hosts are warm, friendly without being overbearing, the breakfasts and fabulous! Every morning was a treat. The house is spotless and has lovely furnishings. We loved our stay and stay there everytime we are in Fredericksbug.
