Magnolia House, the Perfect Bed and Breakfast

The Magnolia House is a perfect bed and breakfast!! Lisa and Claude are wonderful and work tirelessly to see that each guest feels welcomed. My husband and I truly feel as comfortably there as we do in our own home! If you are looking for a place to stay that serves perfect gourmet breakfasts each day and is spotless clean, you will not be disappointed. We highly recommend the Magnolia House.

This was my first stay at a Bed and Breakfast in the states - previously I've only stayed at them abroad while on vacation. It was fantastic! My mom and I stayed over the Easter weekend when it was freezing - in fact it sleeted all day that Saturday. It was great to be in a B&B because we really felt at home, plus there were drinks, movies, games, etc. to keep us occupied. But I do think that we really felt at home at Magnolia House because of Lisa and Claude. They are fantastic hosts, extremely helpful, cook a phenomenal breakfast, and are overall great people. I highly recommend Magnolia House!

The rooms were very clean and comfortable, there were tons of amenities, it was quiet - seirously, there are no complaints. Fredericksburg is a very quaint town and Magnolia House is a great choice for lodging. Thanks, Lisa and Claude!

    Best B&B we've ever experienced!

Staying at the Magnolia House was a wonderful pleasure. Lisa and Claude, the hosts, create an environment in which their guests are both perfectly at home and beautifully pampered. Lisa was always there when we wanted to speak with her, but she was never obtrusive.

I was with six family members in two suites and one room, and each was furnished with delightful details and complete comfort. Hanging out in the living areas was equally pleasant. The breakfasts were delicious two course affairs at tables set in such a lovely fashion that they could have been in magazines.

We can't wait to visit Fredericksburg again just to stay at the Magnolia House.

    Exceeded our expectations

This was our first venture to a B&B and it was fantastic. The owners are very good hosts and the accomodations were very nice. The Breakfast was all home-made and was a real treat. We will definitely go back again.

    The best!

I've stayed in many B&Bs and this one is the best. I've never seen such pride and high standards before staying with Claud and Lisa at Magnolia House. Every detail of this wonderful home and its beautiful furnishings are perfect, as is the nice garden with fish pond. It is getting difficult to find full breakfasts these days at a B&B, and this one was gourmet all the way. Fantastic wine and baked goods in the evening, chocolates in every room in the house, and I enjoyed the added decorating touches for Easter. Lisa recommend a fabulous restaurant for dinner. I highly recommend Magnolia House.

The best B&B I have ever stayed at!

My husband and I stayed at the Magnolia House last week and had the best time ever. The accommodations were outstanding as well as the host and hostess, Claude and Lisa. The refreshments in the evening were perfect and the breakfasts were as delicious as they were unique. Claude and Lisa helped us find all the best places to visit while we were in Fredericksburg. And I can say positively that they stirred us in the right directions. I would highly recommend this wonderful place!

    Peaceful thoughts

We visited the hill country for the first time and chose the Magnolia House as our place to stay the night. We were not disappointed. The room was upstairs and very nicely appointed. Extremely clean. There was wine and freshly baked cookies upon our arrival which was very welcomed after all the sightseeing one does while in Fredericksburg.(Very nice town by the way) The living room, dining room, and a small reading room was to be enjoyed by anyone staying there. The backyard was so refreshing with a fish pond, swing, and other lawn chairs nestled on a well manicured lawn. Very nice. Our only disappointments were the lack of nice soaps and toileteries in the bath (two slivers of MOTEL soap should not be placed in a nice home) and the breakfast. The owner tried very hard to please but the food was not very good. I would recommend this place, especially in the Spring. It is not far from Main street and it is extremely clean and quiet. You can always eat somewhere else. Our experience was a good one.

Beautiful old house with lovely furnishings. The place is spotless. Claude and Lisa Saunders are the absolute best hosts, making sure their guests are welcomed with all the comforts of home plus more. Delicious gourmet breakfast each morning, homemade treats in the afternoon, and wine in the evening. There is information about the area and sights to see, including restaurant menus. The Saunders' offered to make dinner reservations for us even before we arrived, and we took them up on it. Their dinner suggestions were excellent.

We enjoyed visiting with the other guests in the early evening prior to leaving for dinner, and again at breakfast.

My husband and I stayed at the Magnolia House B&B to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary in mid November. When we returned to our room one afternoon, there was an anniversary card from Claude and Lisa, plus a small gift of special chocolate. Such a thoughtful and nice surprise.

    What a Gem

This is the best B&B in Frederickburg. Attention to detail and care about their guests are the Innkeepers main concerns. Our stay was lovely and we recommend them to all of our friends who are thinking of staying in this quaint town.

    Warm and Friendly

The Hosts are warm, friendly without being overbearing, the breakfasts and fabulous! Every morning was a treat. The house is spotless and has lovely furnishings. We loved our stay and stay there everytime we are in Fredericksbug.

... had to have warm homemade peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream for lunch. Delicious! We're sorry we can't take some of these peaches to Ohio since our peach crop was frosted out this year. We drove to Carlsbad, NM by 8:00PM. After checking out several hotels and being discouraged with their prices we stayed in a deluxe cabin at Carlsbad KOA. It was perfect and half the price of the hotels. We had planned to make this ...

Jeff's family headed back to Newtown PA today. Dad toolk them to the airport at 6:30 AM. They arrived home safely, happy to see temperatures in the 70's. Did you know Giselle hates the heat? No one will ever question her love for her niece. She brought her whole family to TX at the end of July just to see Ailish. We love you too, Giselle! No one can understand like mothers how important it is to get the whole family together. Doing it in Texas was extra ...

Poor Michael wanted to get wet at every show but the whales would always miss them! Finally at the last show we attended they got drenched. Michael was so pleased! It was a long, hot, hot day but a wonderful day in spite of it. I am sure the kids will remember it ...

The kids thought it was cool to eat off the table with no plates- just a piece of white paper for a placemat. The children didn't enjoy the food as much as the adults did! After dinner was over uncle Chad had to head back to Houston. He's such a good Uncle it was hard to say goodbye but we will all be together again at ...

After breakfast, we packed up bathing suits, towels, water, snacks and other items, piled in the car and headed back to Johnson City and Pedernales State Park for a day of rock climbing and swimming.

I'm not sure how it started, but they played a trivia game related to the video game (Mindcraft) they all have been playing. It actually was pretty good, Brando, of course, was asking all the questions, but it was like he was reading them instead of just asking ...
