... and Union strongholds are marked throughout, and the trenches the soldiers dug and cannons they used are still there. There are hundreds of markers and memorials to all those who fought and the states that they represented. It was easy to imagine what it must have been like during that time. The re-history lesson and actually being there was pretty amazing.
