    ... to get to La Crosse before nghtfall. That said, did manage to use some of the highways in and around Chicago and was able to get a feel for the area. Beautiful, green, lots of water springs to mind. But it is summer and I believe it gets pretty cold in winter.     ... rest of the evening promises to be an early one for all of us. We're headed out early in the morning, with plans to be on the road by 7 AM. Wisconsin today, Minnesota tomorrow. By the time we are done driving tomorrow, we should be just over the border into South Dakota, stopping near the town of Canistota. Vermillion Lakes State Park is our last overnight before our arrival in Custer, South Dakota the day after tomorrow. Mount Rushmore awaits...

    11th-12th July A long day of traveling yesterday, we crossed the whole of Wisconsin. We drove to Milwaukee first to the Miller brewery where we had a tour, it was more about the history of Miller and their production capacity, than about beer making.
