Today was our last full day in Belgium and we decided Brussels still needed some seeing. That, and after three days of train hopping, we were ready to take it easy. Just having the knowledge that we can go back to our hotel to take a break/cool off/double-check something online provides a psychological easing that somehow makes us less footsore and tired out. ... you can’t get inside. Okay off we go to find the Tour d’Angle, a piece of the ancient city wall and tower gates. We did find that although it is being incorporated into a modern apartment building that is under construction. It's very strange how they just hook the old and new together.

The museum has many things dedicated to Tin Tin and Smurfs as well as others. Then walked over to St. Huperts - the oldest shopping mall ...

... Canadian reality is beginning to intrude on my European life, and I don't particularly like it.

It's sunny today, and there's a hint of warmth to the air. The birds are singing, and it's reminiscent of my first days here, and I feel as if everything has come full circle. At moments like this, life feels extremely cyclical, as if it is set to some sort of pattern. I walked downtown today, through Grand Place, down rue Royale, ...

So I dragged myself out of bed after recovering from a night of total...self-indulgence to put it mildly! Took a hop-on-hop-off bus around most of the northern part of the city which was great to see all kinds of things! Went out to the atomium, which is an odd structure the Belgians build for the 58 expo! Anyone seen the movie contact, with Jodie Foster...ya, like that!!! You actually use ...
