So we are finally on our adventure. Aptly it was raining on our way to Rainham Station. Flight with Jet Airways was excellent with a 2 hour layover in Dehli, the Indian customs and security is a bit of a pain but can't really grumble, slept better than in smithy's house anyway :-). Had fun at Thai immigration though as my phone battery died which …

Well what a journey that was, first leg to Abu Dhabi was totally sound. Luckily got the extra leg room and was sat next to two sound lads, one from Wigan going to Aus and a scouser going to Thailand....although I think the scouser was going for different reasons than I. The second leg was painful AS, after waiting in Abu Dhabi for 3 hrs drinking …

Flight to Bangkok

The flight from Tokyo to Bangkok reinforced my fears of travelling to Thailand at the ripe age of 30 might not be the best idea. Between the price and the pictures and history I read about, it was too good to pass up. San Francisco to Tokyo was fine, the movie selection lacked luster, but there was a nice quiet couple from Thailand that kept …

So we're in Bangkok! We are on our third and final night here and if there's anywhere to throw you into travelling for three months this is definitely the right city! Our initial thoughts on Bangkok- it's crazy, chaotic, friendly and hot! Our hostel in Silom is great we have met people from all over the world and the rooms are all really clean and …

    A blessing

This is definitely the best hostel I've ever stayed in. It's not super cheap but it is worth it. Such a slick operation, great room, fun and professional staff and immaculately clean. Also, they chuck in nice freebies on different nights.

We were lucky enough to be there on the day of its annual blessing ceremony. This involved chanting monks and a huge free buffet for all. Don't think they need the blessing though - they're doing pretty well already.

Better than many places you'll stay

It is very affordable, and it is so clean. No other Hostel and even some Hotels are this clean! Awesome staff, and great location. They have two locations, the Silom Street is where I stayed, but I think the Siam Street location may be better.

You will meet amazing people from all over the world, and you will sleep well. The showers were so great, airy, and lots of natural lighting.

The WiFi is great. I even attended my 3 hour online class from here.

    Breakfast is cheap as well.

The staff is also very knowledgeable...they helped me make my Bangkok itinerary.

Met some nice people and had a good stay at ths lovely boutique hostel. It's a little out of the way, the other Lub d in Siam sq is more central but more costly apparently. All good though, especially if you were travelling alone.
