Los Lupinos Ushuaia

I am in the last city of the world, it is a strange feeling. The scenery is the best i have ever seen, all around are mountains, and the beagle channel lying in front of us. The flight to Ushuaia was relatively uneventful. We sat beside a guy who turned out to be a captain of Antarctica cruises, but we were so tired we did not actually speak to him until we were getting off the plane which is when we found out he probably could have had a story or two to tell. Monday was spent trying to get organized. We went to the bank, exchanged some travelers checks at a reasonable rate to have some cash kicking around. We also found out that it is not uncommon for ATMs in southern Argentina to run out of cash on weekends. Monday they get restocked but there is a limit how much you can withdraw (only $100). Tuesday was time to hit the road. Our first trek of the trip was a one day up to see Glacier Martial. The trip included a 2 hour slow walk up city streets and pathways to get to the base of the mountain. Then a 1.5 hour ascent up pathways and then a sandy hillside. After a day of bumming around, Thursday was another trek day. This time we were off to Park nationale Tierra Del Fuego , to do one of the day long treks there, to the a lookout summit. The day did not start particularly well, as it was quite cold and rainy.
