We pulled in off the cruise at about 6pm. Off the Balt and the first time in Canada. We got Dylan a great Canada t shirt. We took a taxi into town and stopped at the miniature museum. We dint go in because we thought we would walk around town for a while once we had walk around town we needed to get back on the ship for 11pm. ... Fulford with its art, craft and bric-a-brac shops. We had coffee in a quirky coffee shop and before we knew it, we were back on the ferry to the mainland.

We kept a look-out, but still no whales sighted - grrr this was getting frustrating - we might have to fork out for a whale-watching trip!

We drove about 187 miles yesterday and 50 today. Our phones were on roaming so they are off. Tomorrow we drive up island to get to the once a week ferry from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert leaving on Saturday. We will overnight on that ferry. We do not know what kind of signal we will have at any given point. Stay tuned...

having a lot of problems with upload of photos .....I give up for now in hopes of publishing the daily.

We knew it - it will be hectic, stressful and it will be early!
But our departure for our around the world trip was this time uniquely confusing.

While we got up in time, the kids were awake right away..but then decided to sleep in...we somehow were suddenly late packing still the last things, getting out of the door later than planed, picked up our friend Gabriela but realizing that Oliver forgot ...

After much heart searching we decided to make the journey by public transport! And it was really easy. Train to Bus Station, bus to port and on to the ferry! Saved ourselves about 80 dollars in taxi fares. Patricia was at the port to meet us waving a Canadian Flag. The crossing was amazingly beautiful, but no whales! Our HomeLink house is fantastic - the last word in luxury! We met John and Shelley. John will be Jon's tennis ...
