... until the sign for Split Apple Rock. We passed some very posh beach houses on top of the hills here – but given the current rainfall, we doubted whether these mansions would be a worthy investment… Parked off the road and walked down the hill a short distance to find… a carpark… ha ha! We found the start of some wooden steps going into the bush. Nice little walk – emerging right onto a sandy beach. How idyllic! And right opposite the Split Apple Rock ...

... allsorts, Jelly Tots, braai mix and that sandwich spread that looks like vomit. Well, clearly there is a market for it. Made my way back to the YHA to have avo and fish fingers for supper, washed down with juice and licorice allsorts. I then managed to get onto the internet, which was nice after having been disconnected from the world for the past couple of days. Got a message that Tamlyn is definitely going to meet me in Motueka for next Monday and Tuesday. Hooray!
