We arrived in Beijing well actually the Port about 200 kms from the city centre, it was the Tianjin Dojiang International Cruise Home Port. We had an early breakfast and headed to the Queens Lounge where we wee to wait for our tour. ... Pinnacles diner and it was fabulous. I had Lobster bisque and then pork chop followed by a soufflé just delicious. John had the crab cakes the a 23oz porterhouse which was huge followed by baked Alaska. We had a really great evening but I drank far too much with 3 Martinis, 2 glasses of wine and hen half a bottle of red......Not Good Jan!!!!!! ... and we had planned to go to Mount St Helens; a volcano which, had erupted in the late 1980's. It was interesting to see the before and after pictures and the trees on the mountain were still black, even after 30 years. The boiling water and lava had burnt the ground leaving winding valleys and a vast expanse of space. One could see for miles due to the eruption burning all the trees which, previously, would have blocked the view. The hike felt extremely good after a weekend ...

... br> We are currently in our room, it was my turn to write the blog, so Phil is just relaxing. We are waiting for it to go dark so we can go and take some photos of the Space Needle lit up. Its 8pm so think we have a while to go yet. Then we plan to have showers and sort our bags out before tomorrow, as we get the 2.10pm bus to Vancouver - excited!! So i'll leave it at that, hope you've enjoyed having a nosy at what we've been up too! We'll be back soon!
