      I had intended to be up early this morning, but I didn't get e very good nights sleep and ended up sleeping in until 8 o'clock. The plan today was to catch a train to Ghent and spend the day there. I got myself organised and walked across town to the station. Purchasing a ticket was no issue, although I thought I would have to specify my return time. No issues, its a daily ticket and I can return when I want.       The walking begins early in the morning and the place looks like a ghost town. We arrive at Sint Baafskathedraal as it opens and look at the painting and detail inside. Stopping for a coffee break I ask what a Flemish coffee is - coffee with jeneever - a stronger version of gin. I wimped out and asked for a cappucino.

      ... left all of a sudden, so we decided to go across the road to another pub. This place apparently had over 200 beers on their menu, so we randomly picked out three beers (and a coke for Karina, who was done) then sat down for another chat.       ... It’s about the size of a garden gnome. For a while I thought it was a small copy some one had made but the huge groups of tourists taking photos convinced me it was the actual one. I blame Google for this!

      Anyway, we decided after this we were cold enough to head back to the hostel and rest. On the way we stopped for an extra large cone of fries then napped for a while to get over the ginormous amount of food we had eaten that day.
