It's amazing watching pedestrians, cars, lots of bicyclists, trams & buses sharing the road. At least here in the old town it just seems to work! Trams & cars stop at pedestrian crossings if you walk out, cars are respectful of bikes, & bicyclists & pedestrians just dance around each other! Worst incident I saw was a lady putting her bike in a bike stand, which then fell over withe the other 3 bikes in it!

It was interesting to see the Great Butchers' Hall and its' trusses which are now used to hang Gandaham. The Galgenhuisje (gallows house) which was the former tripe house was a gallows in the 17th century but it is now a small cafe. ...

... had to ride home, then the three of us spent the rest of the night chilling and chatting and playing some guitar. We ended up in a bit of a D&M about families, morals and religions, then after a while it was about 2:30 and Karina said she was going to bed. So I played her a song that I just made up about not going to sleep, and that its not time for bed! Pretty funny! But we did end up going to bed eventually, a little (or a lot) drunk at ...

... be our cup of tea after all. I can't imagine doing this for 6 months, I mean I couldn't even last a day there! So now our trip is completely up in the air. Unplanned as ever, and without any sense of direction. Where to go after such a crazy day? Amsterdam of course. My next post will hopefully be from a much happier Nathan with a set plan of what to do from a place that is bound to be full of fun. "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade" ...
