... always surrounded by danger-every 10 metres the sub went down in depth, the ocean's pressure increased by 1 atmostphere. So, at 100m the sub would experience 10 times surface pressure. A serious leak onboard would sink the boat very swiftly, and the crew took emergency procedures onboard very seriously. Knowing where every single flood pull alarm onboard was just one of the many requirements for becoming a submariner.
