Today is our last full day in Colorado, so we planned another early day, but as per normal it didn't go to plan. Breakfast was homemade croissants, pastries, fruit and orange juice, mmmmm. We decided to keep one room till later in the day so did a luggage transfer. Finally got organised and headed to St Mary's glacier. The drive up was a twisty windy road flanked by shimmering aspens. This should be easy since we know how to do it ...

... rain we've seen in two weeks. The weather has been ranging from uncomfortably warm to searing hot for the trip (85-100 degrees) but today was cold. 35 degrees in Aspen and talk of snow. We stopped for lunch in Frisco, CO and ate too much yard-bird to continue. Frisco hotel has gridiron on the box, a hot tub, wi-fi and a moose head in the lobby. All the comforts of ...

In a Quandary: Should I climb or not?

A travel blog entry by dekr0889 on Jul 06, 2013

... hiking is that people around you keep encouraging you. The least we can expect from someone coming in the opposite direction is a courtesy smile/nod or casual “how
is it going?” Others encourage you by saying “almost there” or “The view is worth the climb.” This and being sensitive about nature and surroundings are things which i ...
